CocoChic Why I Went to A Tax Day Tea Party Apr 15, 2009 11:19 PM Since the news is all over the tea parties, good or bad, I thought I'd share why I personally went to my local one tonight. What I saw tonight made me so proud to be an American. We were of different political parties, different races, all different ages, and people of all kinds. There were men in suits, kids, veterans, homeless, and lots of people that are fed up with the way our Congress and government are out of control. Yes, there was anti-Obama speech. However, it was about the actual legislation that he has done since being in office. Pelosi, Reid, Frank, and Dodd were all in Congress during the Bush administration. Going to this tea party had nothing to do with me not voting for Obama. When he won, I genuinely wanted him to change this country for the better (in an economical sense). However, he kept going with Bush's stimulus plan and increased it. He has not put things up for the 5 days online that he promised he would for the nation's review. He has not stood up to Congress and told them that they have been in office since 2006 and not brought change. I live in California and taxes here are the highest in the nation. Our sales tax recently went up to 9.25%. My husband is losing his job and because of the economy and the state's taxes, we don't know if we can stay in California. He works so hard for that money and we give so much in taxes, it's ridiculous. We shouldn't have to give the money that we work for so that other people can live. This country is about the pursuit of happiness, not the guarantee. We have the right to do with our money what we choose. If we want to give to charity, we will, but we won't be forced into it. America was founded on capitalism. If you don't want that, what's keeping you from moving to Europe? The market should dictate the economy, not the government dictate it. The news is saying that the parties are full of "right-wing extremists". Let me tell you, there were people of all beliefs there. If wanting to keep the money I earn makes me an extremist, then bring it on. I will NOT vote for any candidate, of any party, that wants to raise taxes. I am a conservative. I am a believer in free-trade and capitalism. I believe that I alone am entitled to what I have earned. But above all of that, I am an AMERICAN. I love my country, want it to succeed, and will not shut up until our freedom and liberty are restored.

CocoChic Well that brought me down fast Mar 4, 2009 9:46 PM Tonight, I picked up a friend and we headed to Sherman Oaks (we literally passed your street, PK) to go to Buffalo Exchange. I picked out three great looks, jewelry and all. When I go to take pictures with Matt's fancy DSLR camera, it has an error on the screen. So, I call him and he tells me to try everything I've already tried. He comes to the conclusion that it's the card that's effed up. Great. It's 7:30, the store closes at 8 and I have no idea where a Best Buy is. Turns out, there was one right around the corner. Not like I had time anyway. The worst part is, I left my little point and shoot camera at home. :irk: I freaking ALWAYS have that with me. So, the whole trip was practically worthless. I really want to pull my hair out. It wasn't totally worthless because I found an awesome high-waisted pencil skirt that is white with black animal print. I'm going to wear it to see No Doubt. I actually had my model wear a smaller version for one of the outfits. GAH! :screams: When I got home, I had a package from a Blythe swap. It had a bunch of cute fabrics in it so that made me a little happier. And.... I'm selling my custom Blythe that looks like me. I just can't seem to get attached to her. So, if you want a Blythe for about $130 that can be slightly customized before you get her, I can do that. ;)
CocoChic Best Rick Roll Ever. Mar 2, 2009 10:48 PM Westboro Baptist Gets Rickrolled See more like this on kontraband.com Whoever the Rick Roller is, he's awesome. :medal: I also have to say that it makes me sick and furious that Westboro claims to be baptist. They are a bunch of idiot bigots who have completely misconstrued the Bible.
